Bollywood helping its little brother

Marathi Cinema, the tiny neighbour of Bollywood is slowly making itself heard with films that stand true to its identity and flavour.
The show man of Bollywood Subhash Ghai made a bold decision and gave a chance to film maker Umesh Kulkarni to make a film titled 'Valu'.
The film went on to become a big hit and was appreciated critically for a sincere and emotionally touching film.
Umesh gets his chance to make his second feature film from none other than Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
Big B through his now revived A B Corporation is set to produce a Marathi film to be directed by Umesh.
The shooting of the film will start during the August ÂSeptember period and the majority portion of the film will be canned in Pune.
The lead character of the film is a 12 year old boy and the story revolves around the spiritual way of looking at our life.
It is a great thing that the powerful and cash rich Hindi Tinsel Town has started to stand as support pillar to a small Marathi film Industry.
The Marathi Cinema by not imitating and blindly trying to follow Hindi Cinema and sticking on to its roots is creating a fine balance between various genres of films to grow and gain popularity in its own terms.
