Bollywood Film Of The Week
- IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,August 28 2004]
FIDA: Producer: Ramesh Taurni, Kumar Taurani; Director: Ken Ghosh;
Music: Anu Malik; Lyrics: Sameer;
Cast: Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Kim Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra
Made on exotic locations in South Africa and Dubai, the film bears a more-than-coincidental resemblance to ÂAjnabee and ÂHumraazÂ, the first of which also starred Kareena. Some of the expectations that the film- KenÂs second after ÂIshq Vishq - generates after the first half hour are somewhat let down by the climax though the film which is shorter than usual is generally good entertainment. But real-life friends Shahid and Kareena make a good pair on screen and have acted competently. ÂNazar Nazar and ÂAaja Ve Mahi are very catchy.
Sonia loves her best friend Jai a happy-go-lucky orphan, but he has his own ideas of a dream girl. He then meets Neha and feels she is the dream girl he has always fantasized about, but she initially turns down his overtures and it takes her time to win her over. But he takes sleeping pills in an attempt to convince her of his love, Neha admits to him that her father was a criminal and had borrowed Rs 60 million from the underworld, which she has to return within three days or her father would be killed. To help her out, Jai decides to rob a bank. But at the bank, he decides to rob the money from Vikram who has just withdrawn Rs 70 million. When he fails, he decides to tell Vikram the truth. But he discovers that Vikram had got that money by transferring it to his own account by hacking the account of an underworld don, and now both the don and the police are after him. Jai agrees to go to jail in return for the 60 million he needs. But in court, he is attacked by the donÂs men and escapes. But on reaching NehaÂs house, he gets the shock of his life. He has been betrayed and decides to settle scores.
