After a meeting with Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Bollywood's tomorrow’s planned strike to protest against the imposition of a service tax on the film industry has been called off.

The strike was called by Film Federation of India (FFI) on February 23. Most film associations and exhibitors have decided to withdraw from the nationwide strike after a film delegation met Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni and finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday.

Mukesh Bhatt, who was part of the delegation, said, "We voiced our grievances and the ministers asked us to be patient till the budget. If it is not satisfactory, we will meet to take stock of the situation and act accordingly."

However FFI is continuing to go ahead with the strike tomorrow but it’s likely to make any impact as Film producers from Mumbai, exhibitors and both single screen and multiplexes across the country have decided to withdraw from the strike.

Ramesh Taurani whose ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ starring the newlywed Riteish-Genelia hits the screen this Friday was quoted saying, “ It's a fair decision as ultimately we are here to do business and not to strike. Since the finance minister has promised to look into the matter, we shall wait till the budget."
