Ever since Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu made his controversial remarks about Bollywood few days back, several actors and filmmakers have shared their two cents on the matter. During the trailer launch event of his production venture 'Major', Mahesh Babu denied having any plans for venturing into Hindi cinema and stated that Bollywood cannot afford him.
While several Bollywood celebs have respected Mahesh's freedom to express his opinions, there are some who pointed out the absurdity and vagueness is his statement. However, actress Kangana Ranaut completely sides with Mahesh and believes that Bollywood, indeed, isn't able to afford him.
During the second trailer launch event of her film 'Dhaakad', Kangana said, "He's right, Bollywood cannot afford Mahesh Babu because I know for a fact that many filmmakers offer him many movies and he and his generation singlehandedly have made the Telugu film industry the number 1 film industry in India. So now, Bollywood can definitely not afford them."
However, the actress added that media shouldn't blow such trivial statements out of proportions. She said, "Why create controversies on small things? If he said that in some context, I think it only makes sense. We can also say Hollywood cannot afford us or say whatever way we want to convey our point. But here’s one thing, I think he has shown respect for his work and industry which is why he has reached the level he is at today and we cannot deny that."
