Versatile Actress Tabu has landed a key part in the much awaited Hollywood series "Dune: Prophecy." As Variety reports, Tabu will play Sister Francesca in the series. She is a powerful, smart, and seductive figure whose comeback to the palace upsets the delicate balance of power.
Preceding Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movie in 2021, "Dune: Prophecy" is based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's book "Sisterhood of Dune." Ten thousand years before "Dune," the show delves into the history of the Bene Gesserit and the complex world of the franchise while following the battles of two Harkonnen sisters against powerful enemies endangering the fate of humanity.
Acclaimed performers Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, and many more are joining Tabu in this gigantic endeavor; they all have important parts to play in bringing this vast cosmos to life. Leading the show as executive producer and showrunner is Alison Schapker; co-developing and executive producing the series is Diane Ademu-John.
With its two movies making over $1.1 billion globally, the "Dune" franchise has had extraordinary success. With Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Timothee Chalamet in "Dune: Part Two," which came out earlier this year, the franchise's status as a worldwide phenomenon was further cemented.
Known for her adaptability and engrossing performances, Tabu most recently appeared in "Crew" with Kriti Sanon and Kareena Kapoor, displaying her continuing skill and popularity on both home and foreign stages.
