The sequel to Superstar Rajinikanth's industry hit 'Chandramukhi', stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead role, directed by P Vasu and funded by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions. Vadivelu and Radhika Sarathkumar play important roles in the film which has music by MM Keeravani. The movie's shooting is currently underway.

It was earlier reported that Chandramukhi 2 is most likely to feature five heroines: Lakshmi Menon, Mahima Nambiar, Manjima Mohan, Srushti Dange and Subiksha Krishnan. Now, sources tell us that Kangana Ranaut will be playing the titular role in the prestigious movie. The actress will start shooting for the movie in the first week of December.

This news was allegedly confirmed by the film’s costume designer Neeta Lulla in an interview with the national media agency. She reportedly said, "I am excited to work with Kangana Ranaut. She is one of the actresses who loses herself while playing the role." Chandramukhi 2 will be Kangana Ranaut's third direct Tamil film.

However, the team is yet to officially announce the cast members. It remains to be seen if those five heroines are also acting in Chandramukhi 2. RD Rajasekhar handles the camera for the upcoming film and Thotta Tharani takes care of the art direction. Stay tuned for more updates on the project.
