Bollywood Actors who blurred lines between independent & commercial cinema

Our film industry has over the course of years, explored between the two sects of films, independent and commercial. Though the majority is divided among the two, the idea of breaking down the notion to something new has appeared in past couple of years and some of the actors have taken it forward. Actors want to step out of the boundaries and consider doing more intriguing scripts. Redefining originality in the industry and coming up with new ways to expand the culture; here are a few names you should know about:
Irrfan Khan - He has been on the scene for years, impacting and influencing a global audience. HIs Indian epistolary romantic film, The Lunchbox' directed by Ritesh Batra, produced by Guneet Monga, Anurag Kashyap and Arun Rangachari is one such film that will grab your attention. The film is a natural romance that is not a typical commercial film, yet has a rather optimistic approach.
Vicky Kaushal - He is one such actor in the industry who started out with a role in an independent principal storyline, Masaan' and has now gradually expanded full-fledged within this new idea of cinema without being associated specifically in stereotypes. He is to be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's , Sanjay Dutt biopic, as in-fiim, Sanjay Dutt's best friend along with Ranbir Kapoor. the film has been appreciated worldwide, and has got awards including Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut.
Alia Bhatt - Her 'Dear Zindagi' is directed and written by Gauri Shinde, starring along with ShahRukh Khan. The film depicts an overwhelming plot, a overtime bonding relationship shared between a budding cinematographer and a distinctive thinker, in life. The film hardly fits towards a parallel or commercial cinema, unlike her previous movies, but is rather an open story to an audience to question and accept life and the way things work out.
Deepika Padukone - She has been part of some huge movies and worked with the some great directors. Her film in 2012, a drama rom-com, Cocktail' was a contemporary film directed by Homi Adajania, with a broader perspective. It highlighted the changing lifestyle and three different personalities in the same theme and how it entangled their relationships with their consequences, ending on a satisfying note.
Nawazuddin Siddique - He started out with a small role in Sarfarosh' along with Aamir Khan, and has been part of some highly appreciated commercial as well as independent films. One of his 2015 highly pivotal role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, was driven solely by a strong character.
Kangana Ranaut - She has been part of one of the most massively appreciated films covering all types of films. She has been seen in movies like, 'Tanu Weds Manu' followed by 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', 'Krrish 3', 'Raaz', to lead in the blockbuster ' Queen' . She has been the face of an array of movies and people have loved her work all over.
Rajkummar Rao - He is known for his part in 2013's 'Kai Po Che' as Govind which was adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's, ' 3 Mistakes of my Life'. Earlier he had been in the cast of Gangs of Wasseypur, 'Love Sex Aur Dhoka' , Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS.
