Famous Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and the same was confirmed by his mother Neetu Kapoor. Ranbir's uncle Randhir Kapoor had earlier said that the actor was down with an illness but couldn't confirm exactly what the type of illness was.
"I believe he is not well, but I am not sure about the nature of the illness. I am not in town," Randhir Kapoor was quoted was saying. Ranbir is currently under quarantine. Neetu Kapoor confirmed on social media a few moments ago that Ranbir had contracted Covid-19. She wrote, "Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions." Ranbir Kapoor recently took the internet by storm when he announced that he would be tying the knot with his girlfriend and Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt soon. The actor also mentioned that he would've been married to her already had it not been for the pandemic.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be seen together in the upcoming action fantasy trilogy Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar. The much-awaited film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy. Ranbir is also awaiting the release of 'Shamshera,' which is set to hit the screens on June 25, 2021.
