Kahaani - The film which hailed Vidya Balan as the new Khan of B-town. After ÂThe Dirty Picture this film by Sujoy Ghosh elevated the actress to a new height.
Vicky Donor - John AbrahamÂs debut production featured newcomers Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar, attempted a bold move with the storyline revolving around sperm donation and interestingly (rather surprisingly) audience responded well to this different concept.
Ishqzaade - Boney KapoorÂs son Arjun debuted with this film which had Parineeti Chopra co-starring with him. The film attracted huge response due to their strong performances.
English Vinglish - The comeback vehicle of evergreen actress Sridevi and directorial debut of Gauri Shinde (director R.BalkiÂs sister) impressed one and all, young and old. A story shown through the eyes of a typical Indian housewife changed the perspective of several.
Gangs Of Wasseypur - Rustic to the core, but a story told in powerful way. This film by Anurag Kashyap proved that itÂs not necessary for a film to have known faces, peppy songs or any other commercial elements.
Barfi - The filmÂs silence, silently entered the hearts of the audience and almost entered the Oscar race. After ÂRockstar Ranbir Kapoor emerged as a Silent Star with his remarkable performance as mute and deaf Murfy along with Priyanka Chopra and south actress Ileana DÂCruz.
OMG! Oh My God - A film which had many lessons to teach on spirituality, superstitions and blind faith, but not sounding preachy at the same time.
Talaash - A wonderful and surprising year-end treat by Reema Kagti and remarkable cast - Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor - a rare combination of all the three stars. The mystery around the filmÂs making, story and finally blended in with an unexpected climax turned in favour of the filmÂs success.
