Page 3 famed producer Bobby Pushkarana makes his directorial debut with Zindagi Bahut Khoobsurat Hai (Life Is Beautiful). Serving as a perfect launch pad, the 15-min short film will be screened at forthcoming 66th edition of Cannes Film Festival (May 16-26), at its Court Metrage, the short film segment.
Zindagi Bahut Khoobsurat Hai has been bannered under the filmmakers production house Light House Films (M) Pvt Ltd and written and produced by his wife Kavita Pushkarna, who had suggested the idea to send the films story to Cannes. The films music is handled by music composing duo Salim-Suleiman. When asked how they got on board, they said, "The powerful message in the story inspired us to take up this project."
According to Bobby, the film is an attempt to see things from the perspective of a destructive person. The film is about how Mumbai's colourful life transforms the protagonist (Hemwant Tiwari) from a cold and negative person to a positive and self-sacrificing human being. It makes him realise that life is all about the choices that one makes.
Recalling about the experience of making the short film, the director stated that it was not a cakewalk. He had planned to hold a public screening; however Cannes rules did not permit it. Now he has opted to have a theatrical release of the film after the festival.
On the other hand Kavita who is quite excited to be part of the prestigious Cannes, remarked, "My husband and I are now looking forward to being part of the festival, attending the events and interacting with the people."
