In 2013, Ayan Mukerji presented a film which changed the way buddy comedies are made in Bollywood. 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' was an enormous success at its time and over years, it has turned out to be a modern classic. It features characters and friendships which seemed relatable yet other worldly at the same time. Now, it has come to light that actor Bobby Deol was approached for a role in the film but he turned it down.
Apparently, Bobby was Ayan's first choice for the role of Taran Khanna, who was ultimately played by Kunal Roy Kapoor. Had Bobby accepted the part, it would've been more of an extended cameo rather than a supporting role. However, he passed on the opportunity to work on 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2'.
Bobby's character was supposed to marry Kalki's character in the film and after watching Kunal's performance, fans can't imagine Bobby playing such a role. Kunal captured the nervousness and awkwardness of the character really well.
