Jawid Laiq, a journalist, is known for reporting predictions about elections by surveying public opinion in a distinct style. He has a knack for knowing the pulse of the public by speaking to boatmen and pilgrims at the time of elections. This time, he went to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh to assess the mood of the pilgrims belonging to different castes and classes.

The journalist travelled in various boats to talk to or listen to the pilgrims about their voting preferences. And Laiq says that an overwhelming number of pilgrims and boatmen he met from the Hindi heartland have voted for the BJP. "If the boatmen are to be believed, Narendra Modi is likely to win the 2019 election with an even bigger majority for than in 2014," the journalist reports for a portal. "With a bigger majority" is truly a big statement.

Down South, a large set of pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh have shown interest in YSRCP, he says. Jaganmohan Reddy is billed to be the next CM.

The people of the country are waiting for the May 19th Exit Polls. The counting date is May 23rd.
