Sachin Tendulkar is god of cricket to the 1billion Indians and other lovers of the sport around the globe. BCCI has unofficially retired the number 10 jersey that Sachin has donned when taking the field in his decorated 24 year career. . The decision comes in the wake of young Mumbai speedster Shardul Thakur who wore the Number 10 jersey on ODI debut against Sri Lanka in September and was immensely trolled on the internet including by teammate Rohit Sharma.
BCCI not only wants to respect Sachin but also protect any other cricketer from trolls. However the ban is restricted only to international matches and the players can use the number for local and India A matches.
