In 2005, Superstar Rajnikanth acted in the movie Chandramukhi which was directed by P Vasu and the movie which had Jyothika playing the central character turned out to be a massive blockbuster after the unsuccessful Baba.

Recently, actor and director Raghava Lawrence made it official that he will be acting in the sequel to Chandramukhi, Chandramukhi 2 which will again be directed by P Vasu and produced by Sun pictures.

The latest speculations making the rounds that once again the team has approached Jyothika to play the lead and that she might be playing dual roles as Chandramukhi and another lead character. While an official clarification on this rumour is expected soon, this movie will have a fresh story and won't be the continuation of Chandramukhi.
