Molllywood's renowned filmmaker and screenwriter Dennis Joseph passed away on Monday evening. The 64-year-old hitmaker died of a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Kottayam. He is survived by his wife Leena, son Jose, and daughters Elizabeth and Rosy.
Dennis entered the movie industry as a screenwriter with the 1985 movie Eeran Sandhya. He had penned some of the biggest ever blockbuster in Malayalam cinema including Nirakkoottu, Rajavinte Makan, Shyama, New Delhi, No. 20 Madras Mail, Kottayam Kunjachan, Akashadoothu, Palayam, and FIR.
Having worked with almost every superhit filmmaker and top actor in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Dennish had also directed 5 movies - Agrajan, Thudar Katha, Appu, Adharvam, and Manu Uncle. His directorial Manu Uncle starring Mammootty in the lead role won the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film.
Dennis Joseph last penned the Priyadarshan film Geethanjali, which had Mohanlal in the lead. A year ago, Dennis hit the headlines after it was announced that he will be penning the script for director Omar Lulu's next.
