'Black Widow' overcomes ban, set for release

Producer Director Dinkar Rao's film 'Black Widow' has overcome a ban on it by the censor board and is set to scorch the screens this summer. The much awarded film has a lot of entertainment values besides being a hard hitting story of a commercial sex worker from Mumbai.
'Black Widow' is the story of a prostitute from Mumbai. She has a variety of clients - a businesman, an assassin, a cab driver and a sociologist.
The film is story of a prostitute Zoya who is tormented by the past murder of her family and child and her own gang rape. She meets this cab driver while working as a prostitute, in this one night story which is juxtaposed by the past of Zoya, her interrogation ,her past and the trauma. Finally their bonding gets closer and closer.It was official selection at the Strasbourg International film festival. It has two English/and one punjabi song in the background score. The films cast have been taken from the best theatre actors from English/Hindi theatre of Mumbai.The film was very highly appreciated at the screening at the Cinnecitta Studious Milan.It was official selection at New York as well.
The film has been made under the banner of Lavanya Entertainment and stars Shivani Grover, Sanjay Jain, Kushal Punjabi, Rohit Raj, Shakir, Ali Khan, Denzil Smith, Vaishnavi, Sujata Kumar, Preet Kanwal, Ratna Malay, Rajeev Misra and Inayat Sheikh.
