Black Dahlia
Mollywood has been witnessing plenty of films recently, under the tag of thrillers; but very few among them really did what was expected of them. But actor Baburaj, who had spent plenty of days in the industry as an able villain and supporting actor, is all determined to sketch one thriller in his script and direction that will really thrill the audience.
The entire shooting of his directorial debut flick `Black Dahlia', has been completed and movie will face the sensors this week. The plot of the movie revolves around Sacred Heart Medical College, where a student is found murdered under mysterious circumstances as the local police started their probe on the incident, listing the suspects, two more girls are again found dead in the same campus. And as usual, the public starts violent demonstrations, to direct the government to put the case investigation under any able officer. And here arrives D G P Daisy Wilfred, one of the most able names in the force who had heavy experience in dealing with similar cases. Daisy starts her meticulous investigations, but within very few days she understands that this is not a simple case to easily grab and rip off the evading serial killer.
Following the patterns of the recent hits; like Chinthaamani Kolacase and Red Chillies, which featured plenty of fresh young girls to boost the glamour quotient, `Black Dahlia', also have a big cast including a big group of young actress playing NRI students of the college. Sri Lankan actress Tami Dushyantha, Tamil-Telugu actress Suja Naidu, Malayalee actresses Teena, Ruksha, Jisna Ali, Althara, Kavitha Nair, Pavithra, Thegika and Sherry Minhas are in this big list, with heavy support from Vani Vishwanth who is donning another police role as the D G P Daisy Wilfred. Her husband and the director of the movie Baburaj also appear in an important role in the movie.
Super star Sures Gopi also makes a guest appearance as Dr. Aadithya Varma, a forensic psychiatrist in the movie. Also in the cast are Saikumar, Jagathy, Vijaya Raghavan, Siddique, Devan, Skantha, Niyas, Johny, Abusalim, Kollam Thulasi, Saju Kodiyan, Seema, and Ambika Mohan.
P. Sukumar wields the camera of `Black Dahlia' while debutante Sayan Anwar sets music for lyrics written by I.S. Kundoor, Jeofi Tharakan and Dr. Deepak Sneh. Produced by M.K. Muhammed under the banner of M.K. Productions, `Black Dahlia' is expected to hit the theatres in this month of May.
