BJP State president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has said that the BJP would get for Tamil Nadu its Cauvery water-related rights within (the next) five months,

Tamilisai had been repeatedly telling that Tamil Nadu would get its share of water irrespective of whether the Centre set s up a Cauvery Management Board (CMB) or a supervisory council to oversee the water-sharing arrangement. She was speaking to newsmen in Nilgiris this afternoon amid State-wide protests by all political parties urging the Centre to set up the CMB.

“The State had forfeited its justifiable rights over Cauvery river water for the past 50 years; successive Governments in the State hadn’t done anything fruitful to retrieve this right. The BJP would resolve the issue within the next five months and settle people’s issues forever on this count,” she said.

She also blamed the rulers in the State for attempting to cure the ‘disease’ after allowing it to penetrate all over the ‘body’. “HPF in Ooty would be patronized in a big way if the BJP assumes power in the State,” she assured.
