Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has said that the BJP would have resolved the Cauvery river water sharing issue by the time it rode to power when the Assembly polls are held.
Political parties and people of the State are disappointed that the BJP-led Centre didn't pay heed to the Supreme Court's directions to it to set up a Cauvery Management Board (CMB) to supervise the water-sharing arrangement between the States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Farmers in particular are hugely upset about the turn of events over the past few weeks.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Tamilisai said that the BJP would have resolved the Cauvery river water sharing row by the time it rode to power which is a certainty as and when Assembly polls are held.
"In fact, the Cauvery issue would have been resolved long back had the BJP been in power in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka," Tamilisai said.
