During his visit to the US, Pawan Kalyan called on Prof. Steve Jarding, who was one of the key poll strategists of Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party.

In a 2-hour-long meeting held in Boston in February, Pawan reportedly discussed with the Harvard University professor about the political scenario in Andhra Pradesh. After this meeting, supporters of Jana Sena were enthused. They felt that Pawan 'anna' was very much on the verge of taking a full-time plunge into politics, with Jarding acting as his adviser.

Now that SP has lost horribly in UP, will Pawan dump Jarding? That is the question.

In recent past, especially after Demonetization, the Jana Sena chief became vociferous against the BJP. He also said that the "North Indian party" won't be allowed to expand its foothold in Tamil Nadu. With the Modi wave clearly sweeping the key State of UP, what happens to Pawan's political plans needs to be seen.

He was instrumental in drumming up support for Narendra Modi in the run up to the 2014 polls, especially in certain belts of AP. However, with the Centre not conferring SCS on AP, the superstar started speaking up against the BJP.

Had BJP lost UP, Pawan would have made Jana Sena a key anti-BJP force in the Telugu State. His strategies could well go for a redesign now. With Jarding losing his credibility, who is Powerstar going to fall back on? Only time will tell.
