BJP will lose floor test: Analysts

As per the Supreme Court's order, the floor test on the floor of Maharashtra Assembly will take place tomorrow (Wednesday). By 5 pm, we will know whether the BJP government will stand. Analysts, meanwhile, are of the view that the saffron party will fail without a shred of doubt.
Said Barkha Dutt, "If there are no technical surprises, BJP will lose. Not sure what Devendra Fadnavis gains by going through the floor test. The BJP would hope for fresh elections or a Karnataka type lure and split. Unless Sharad Pawar is playing a Great Game that no one can decode, the BJP has been outplayed."
There is this view that the BJP has bungled it up by relying too much on Ajit Pawar, the NCP leader and Sharad Pawar's nephew. Writes Sreemoy Talukdar, "This was evident within a few hours of BJP forming a govt last Saturday. In fact, I have argued that BJP may have miscalculated on the agency Ajit Pawar has over the Pawar dynasty and the party."
As per others, the game is still on. "The floor test could result in a huge surprise. It's hard to believe that Ajit has got no NCP MLA on his side," says a Twitter user.
