A video clip in which Rahul Gandhi is seen partying at a nightclub in Kathmandu, Nepal, is going viral on the Internet. National media has described the video clip as undated.
The Congress party has said that RaGa was attending a private wedding in Kathmandu and the video pertains to a wedding-related party. "Having a family, friends and attending marriage ceremonies is a matter of our culture and civilization," said Randeep Surjewala of the Grand Old Party.
On its part, the BJP is raising several questions. BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya has suggested that the Wayanad MP is indifferent to his party's plight. "He is partying at a time when the Congress party is exploding," he tweeted.
There are views that the woman who is seen with RaGa has taken anti-India stances in the past. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, BJP's AP State General Secretary, wrote, "This is the real face of Rahul Gandhi. He is attending the wedding of a man who supports the new map of Nepal which shows Indian territory as part of Nepal. Shame!" Tweeted Rishi Bagree, "Rahul Gandhi has gone to Kathmandu to attend the wedding of this lady who openly celebrated when Nepal issued its new map which included Indian territories."
