Kaun Banega Crorepati has been one of the most popular game shows in India. It's in its 12th season. Recently, a question on what BR Ambedkar did in 1927 was asked for Rs 6,40,000. And the same has ruffled the feathers of a BJP MLA from Maharashtra.
Here is the question and the options:
"On 25 December 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture?"
A) Vishnu Purana
B) Bhagavad Gita
C) Rig Ved
D) Manusmriti
The question has been deemed anti-Hindu by sections of social media users as well as the complainant, who has accused Amitabh Bachchan and KBC producers of hurting Hindu sentiments.
Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has framed it as a culture war item. "KBC has been hijacked by Commies. Innocent kids, learn this is how culture wars are won. It's called coding," he tweeted out earlier in the week.
