BJP leaders' bizarre reasoning for poll defeat
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
Finding no apparent reason or plausible explanation (in the absence of honest soul-searching), senior BJP leaders have ascribed the decision to change to party’s HQ to a new place as the reason for the reverses suffered by the party at the recently concluded Assembly polls.
The BJP’s headquarters was shifted to a new place a few months back just prior to the Karnataka Assembly polls. The party, which staked claim to form the Govt. in Karnataka, formed but exited in a day’s time paving way for the Kumaraswamy-led JD(S) Govt. which is propped up by Congress. The just-concluded Assembly polls saw the BJP getting voted out of power in Mahdya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh while it put up a below-par performance in Telangana and Mizoram.
Senior BJP leaders have expressed their opinion that the party’s HQ should be moved back to its old Ashoka Road offices from its present place at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg to signal a reversal of fortunes (positively, though) for the ruling party at the Centre.
It was also suggested that Delhi-based leaders should be given key posts in the party as such a scenario augured well for the Congress party in the just-concluded polls.
