BS Yeddyurappa, the No. 1 leader of Karnataka BJP and former chief minister of the State, is in the news for making a revolting comment. He was on Wednesday caught commenting that his party will win at least 22 seats because of the IAF's Balakot airstrikes in Pakistan.
The comments have invited all-round criticism. It's not proper to politicize the bravery of our security forces. Also, it doesn't serve well the memory of the martyrdom of the 44 jawans who were attacked in the Pulwama carnage.
Flooded with a barrage of criticisms, BSY has claimed that his statement has been reported out of context. "I said that the ‘situation is favourable for the BJP’, which I have been saying for the last couple of months. This is not the first time that I said the BJP in Karnataka will win a minimum of 22 seats under the able leadership of Modi ji," BSY said.
