With Rakul Preet Singh allegedly having been named as a drug user by Rhea Chakraborty, the Telangana state unit of BJP has demanded a probe into her activities.
BJP spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao has said that Rakul's name coming out in the case is an irony because she is a brand ambassador of Telangana's anti-drug abuse campaign. "The self-proclaimed youth icons have brought the state of affairs to this," he lamented.
The BJP leader also alleged that the Telugu film industry has got a number of drug users, addicts and peddlers.
The saffron party wants Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to step in and initiate a probe. He has promised to write a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well in this regard.
