Recently, we saw BJP national secretary Sunil Deodhar alleging that YCP candidate M Gurumoorthy, who is contesting for Tirupathi Lok Sabha by-elections, is a Christian who is projecting himself as a Hindu Dalit. Latest, GVL Narasimha Rao, the Rajya Sabha MP from BJP, has demanded that the YCP candidate must come clean on his religion.
He said that BJP candidate Ratna Prabha had taken the blessings of Lord Venkateswara along with her family at Tirumala after her nomination. "On the other hand, Gurumoorthy garu, after nomination from YCP party, didn't do so," he said.
"Tirumala should always remain a symbol of the Hindu dharma. If YCP wins, Christian prayers will be held on Tirumala Hills. This is the feeling among several Hindus. Ambedkar said that converts from Hinduism shouldn't receive reservation benefits. Only Hindu Dalits have rights over the quota," a BJP leader said in a viral video. He added that, if we have to protect the rights of Hindu Dalits, BJP, backed by Jana Sena Party, should win the seat.
