West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP of influencing TV channels to carry out debates about the alleged vaccine scam in West Bengal. She claimed that her government is taking all steps to stem the rot.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, the TMC chief said that her government is taking strong action against perpetrators of the vaccine scam. She said that the scam in Bengal has been discussed on national TV at the behest of the saffron party. "They are giving misinformation and disinformation to TV channels. I am sure that all this is being done at the behest of the Home Minister's office. This is a planted game. Why are other St," Banerjee added.
Since the elections to the Bengal Assembly were announced on May 2, several instances of BJP cadres meeting violence at the hands of TMC cadres have surfaced. This is also an area in which the State has come in for negative coverage in sections of the national media. Banerjee indirectly suggested that there is no violence in the State. Contrary to her claims, several BJP activists have faced unprecedented violence in parts of Bengal.
