Shivaji of 'Operation Garuda' and 'Operation Dravida' fame was today attacked at Vijayawada Airport by unknown assailants. They have been identified as BJP activists, who had come to the Airport to welcome their new President Kanna Lakshminarayana.
Incidentally, Shivaji happened to arrive there at the same time from Hyderabad. As soon as they spotted him, the activists, whom Shivaji has described as "paid artists", heckled him. They were irate that the actor has been attacking Narendra Modi and BJP over the special status issue. The police swung into action and whisked him away in a four-wheeler.
Speaking to a TV channel, Shivaji said that he is not afraid by such attacks. "There was no security in the airport. They could have done anything to me. But I survived only because of my courage. Let me tell such elements that I can strike back. I can pay back in the same coin.
Khabardar! Recently, I literally begged the Telugus in Karnataka to not vote the BJP. That's what they did. Our Telugus there have prevented the party from coming to power. As long as AP doesn't get special status, I will continue my fight against the BJP, which has no future in our state," the actor said.
