Bitten by foreign bug

The latest trend in Kollywood is to shoot movies abroad. The producers and directors hitherto shot a couple of song sequences abroad. But much recently they are bitten by the foreign bug and shooting a major sequences there.

Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam has been shot extensively in USA, Unnale Unnale was canned in Melbourne, Australia, Shaam starrer Thoondil is being shot throughout in London.

The cast and crew of Vegam starring S Ve Shekher's son Ashwin Shekher in lead role have been to Malaysia to shoot the film. Buzz is that Vikram's Kandasaamy would be shot in Kenya and Tanzania.

Director Jeeva is currently busy with Dhaam Dhoom which Jeyam Ravi and Kangana Ranaut in prominent roles. A major portion of Dham Dhoom will occur in Russia.

Sources in the producer's council say it is cost effective to shoot in abroad. More over, obtaining permission to shoot in Tamilnadu from the authorities concerned is a difficult task and the disturbances from the fans do not arise.
