Birthday Special: Jagapathi Babu

  • IndiaGlitz, [Friday,February 12 2010]

Jagapathi Babu, one of the most loved actors of the 1990s, is still going good guns, even 20 years later. The actor is bagging film after film, each different from the previous one. A case in point is Pravarakhyudu, which was world apart from Siddham and his forthcoming film Sadhyam.

It is highly appropriate to say that if Jagapathi looks macho in powerful characters like that of an encounter specialist, he looks equally ordinary in roles like that of a middle-class man (example, Kathanayakudu).

He has got appreciation from the likes of Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh in the past, but what is unique about him is that when he was almost written off after the third generationers made their way in to films, he is still getting critical appreciation for roles like Raksha, Homam and Siddham.

This year, he has a big release. That's the sequel to his blockbuster movie Gayam - Gayam2. Frankly, he must be keeping his fingers crossed.

His well-wishers and critics reviewing him often say that he not do excruciatingly deglam roles of the kind he did in the recent past - Maa Nanna Chiranjeevi.

IndiaGlitz wishes a very happy birthday to Jagapathi.
