Old-timers know well what the thespian Haranath was capable of. He could essay romantic roles, family hero roles, and Lord Rama (in the NTR-directed 'Sitarama Kalyanam' and the 1969 film 'Sri Rama Katha') with equal poise and panache. Born as Buddharaju Haranath Raju in 1936, he passed away in 1989. But the thespian is still remembered for the 167 movies that he did in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
Writer Dr. Kampally Ravichandran has brought out an excellent biography on Haranath. Fittingly, the book is titled 'Andaala Natudu'. More fittingly, the biography was released at the hands of Superstar Krishna, who, like Haranath, was also a heartthrob in the heyday of his career. The book was released on Friday marking Haranath's jayanti.
Haranath's son-in-law GVG Raju and son B Srinivas Raju have been film producers. They have collaborated with the likes of Pawan Kalyan in the past.
Haranath, known for titles such as 'Aatma Bandhuvu', 'Pempudu Kuthuru', 'Palnati Yudham', and 'Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna', famously essayed Lord Krishna in the 1962 film 'Bhishma'.
