'Bimbisara', the fantasy action film starring Nandamuri Kalyanram in the lead, has been confirmed for an August 5th release. Debutant director Mallidi Vasishta has opted for a folk song between the lead man and Catherine Tresa in the movie.

The video version of the song 'O Tene Palukula', rendered by Hymath Mohammed and Satya Yamini, is out. Composed and written by Varikuppala Yadagiri, the same boasts of rooted and believable dance choreography. There is no attempt to make the studio song seem like it is disconnected from the genre of the movie.

In his exclusive chat with IndiaGlitz, the director of the movie revealed that he is a fan of fantasies and mythological stories. "I love fantasies. It's my kind of genre. A lot of stories I have written have a fantasy element in them. I am into reading Puranas and History. I like to read the Epics Ramayana and Mahabharatha. I like to watch Vittalacharya's movies, which were far ahead of his time, be it in terms of writing or technique. I like to read Chandamama stories. I like to create fictional worlds," he told us.

'Bimbisara' is going to be made as a franchise. The second edition will go on the floors later this year. It will be released in theatres in 2023.
