Angela Chao, the well-known Texas-based CEO, who happened to be the sister of US Senator Mitch McConnell, was cut down tragically last month in a manner that the police marked 'accident'. But revelations about the death later revealed the truth. Chao, a Harvard University graduate and author of various books on economics and international trade and finance, is survived by her husband, venture capitalist Jim Breyer, and their three-year-old son.

The accident occurred after a Texas woman mistakenly reversed her Tesla into a private ranch's lake located in the state of Texas. She tried to leave, but the water immediately filled her car.

The accident happened on the night of February 9 after Chunnie Chao had meetings with some friends in the guesthouse on her ranch and she was driving to her home. All her efforts to smash the windows of the car bore no fruit since the laminated glass used in making the windshield to protect occupants in crashes stayed in place.

The car was submerged as the emergency responders, including the EMS teams, and firefighters arrived at the scene. The investigations into the cause of the flood revealed that the day before she drowned, Chao had accidentally put the car in reverse instead of driving.

From one viewpoint, Business Insider's investigation showed that consumers complained to the US Department of Transport concerning issues that had to do with Tesla's reverse function.
