In a daring statement, Bihar’s former chief-minister Rabri Devi, wife of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and State’s former chief-minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, has said that Biharis are ready to ‘maim’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rabri’s statement has excited political circles in Patna, where the BJP is in saddle in alliance with Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (U) which had earlier allied with the RJD and the Congress.  Rabri was obviously replying to Bihar BJP leader Nityanand Rai who had said at a recent event that the party cadres won’t hesitate to chop the hands off those who raise their hands against Modi.

Though Rai later apologized for his heat-of-the-moment remark, the war of words got heated up with Rabri joining the issue. Rabri, who served as chief-minister to ‘cover-up’ for her husband, is not known to make bold and open statements such as these.

“Touch Biharis if you have any courage...did you think they would keep quiet!  Whatever harm you want to cause to Biharis would befall Modi Ji too as we have plenty of Biharis who are ready to maim Modi,” Rabri said in a hard-hitting statement.
