In an appalling and shocking incident, a 23-year-old man brutally thrashed his mother and killed her after she refused to give him Rs. 50 to buy marijuana (ganja).

The incident happened on Saturday when Naeem Khan, a resident of Fakrabad in Bihar's Patna, demanded his mother for Rs. 50 in order to buy ganja to which she apparently replied that she barely had any money to buy even food in the house. Following this, an argument ensued between the two of them. Naeem, who is a drug addict, supposedly has temper issues as well. In a fit of rage, Naeem picked up an iron rod and began attacking his mother, fracturing both her arms in the process. He allegedly stuffed a cloth in her mouth and continued to thrash her until his brother Guddu arrived home and stopped him while he was in the middle of strangling her to death. Despite rushing their mother to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on the way. "Guddu stopped Naeem and tried to catch him. However, he pushed Guddu and fled. The woman was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way," an official reportedly stated.

Post-mortem was conducted on the victim's body and was handed over to the family. Based on a complaint lodged by his brother, an FIR has been registered against the accused. Police are currently on the lookout for him. Further updates are awaited.
