Actress Amritha Aiyer who had acted in movies like Vijay Yesudas starrer Padai Veeran and Theri, had last acted in the Vijay starrer Bigil directed by Atlee. Amritha was seen playing a football player and the captain of the team, and her performance was received well.

Now Amritha Aiyer has been signed to play one of the female leads in a remake movie. Amritha will be playing one of the lead roles in Red, the official Telugu remake of the 2019 superhit movie Thadam starring Arun Vijay in dual roles and directed by Magizh Thirumeni.

Red is directed by Tirumala Kishore who has directed the Jithan Ramesh starrer Pillaiyaar Theru Kadaisi Veedu in Tamil, and has Ram Pothineni playing the role played by Arun Vijay in Tamil. The movie also stars Nivetha Pethuraj and Malvika Sharma as the other female leads.
