What appeared to be an overnight visit to comedian and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui's sweet shop on Mohammed Ali Road eventually turned ugly, resulting in egg-pelting and a brawl. The Mumbai Police have registered a case against seven people, including the owners and staff of the Mashaallah Cuisine restaurant, for having assaulted the NMC owners.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. when Faruqui accepted an invitation from NMC's owner, Akhtar Noorani. The owner of Mashaallah Cuisine, located opposite NMC, made identical requests, but Faruqui categorically refused to participate. This refusal became the source of contention between the comedian and the nephew duo. The Shaikhs, who had a prior dispute with NMC's owners, retaliated by attacking them, hurling eggs, and hurling abuses.
Police intervention quickly brought the situation under control, and both parties were brought to the police station. Abdula, Rejson Rehman, Amin Hanif Shaikh, Naseem Alam Khan, Sajid Salim Khan, Mohammad Sharif Ali Sheer, and Aniljul Mohammad Shakru Devgan were booked under various sections, such as unlawful assembly, rioting, assault, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation.
