The third season of Bigg Boss Telugu kick-started on July 21 and is being hosted by veteran actor Nagarjuna. While the show saw its first eviction last night, a wild card contestant has entered the show already. Tamanna Simhadri is also the first transgender contestant to participate in the show.

Tamanna, who has had a passion for acting and modeling, entered the Miss Transgender Mumbai beauty pageant in 2010 and won the title. She recently appeared in the headlines for voicing out her support for Sri Reddy in the #MeToo movement. She also contested in the recently concluded 2019 Legislative Assembly Elections from the Mangalagiri constituency in Andhra Pradesh. "Post-separation with her family, Tamanna battled depression for several years and she even contemplated suicide. But with the able support of her transgender friend, Tamanna could do better in life," according to a report.

"I will win the hearts of the housemates and the viewers across the Telugu states," Tamanna stated, on being asked about her upcoming stint in the Bigg Boss house.
