Actor Kavin announced his upcoming horror thriller movie, titled Lift, just a few months ago. The film is directed by debutant Vineeth and Kavin will be sharing screen space with Bigil fame Amritha Aiyer.

Shooting of movies has been halted across the country at the moment owing to the lockdown in several parts of the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, post-production activities have been allowed to resume in certain places after the lockdown in Tamil Nadu was lifted recently. Much to the excitement of his fans, Kavin mentioned in one of his recent posts on social media that he has completed dubbing for his upcoming film, Lift. "Dubbing done.. #Lift," the caption on his post read, which contained one of his most recent pictures as well. Regarding the film, Kavin had mentioned in an interview with a news agency, "Once I got out from Bigg Boss Tamil house, I got to listen to this script. I only look for what's in the script and this film really excited me. I heard it from an audience point of view and found this edge-of-the-seat thriller very interesting. Both Amritha and I play IT professionals in the film. Vineeth is an ad-filmmaker, who will be making his debut as a director through this film."

Kavin, who became popular after featuring as the lead in the second season of the Tamil TV serial Saravanan Meenakshi, rose to fame following his stint in the third season of the famous TV reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by veteran actor Kamal Haasan. Kavin has previously played significant roles in the films, Sathriyan (2017) and Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma (2019).
