The most popular Bigg Boss reality game show has been successful in all its versions, and the Malayalam version of the show is hosted by actor Mohanlal. The second season of the Malayalam version is in progress, and a recent event in the show is on its way to get one of the contestants arrested.

One of the most popular contestants Rajith Kumar, who is a botany teacher, had applied chilli paste on the eyes of another contestant, model Reshma Rajan. On the 66th day of the show, one of the tasks had Reshma acting as a school student celebrating birthday, and Rajith acted as if he was blessing her.

However he went on to apply chilli paste on her eyes, and it must be noted that Reshma had recently underwent treatment for infection in cornea and returned to the house. While it has been accused that Rajith has been misogynistic and had not liked the ideologies of Reshma and that he did the act intentionally, Rajith has now been removed from the Bigg Boss house temporarily as punishment. Reshma had been shifted to a hospital for treatment. It has been said that Rajith might get arrested as it is a crime.
