Ananya made her Tamil debut in the super hit  'Nadodigal' directed by Samuthirakani  and starring Sasikumar in the lead role.  Her spirited performance won her many fans and she also made a fine impression in the Jai-Sharvanand starrer 'Engeyum Eppodhum'.

It has come to light that Ananya was the first choice to star in the critically acclaimed blockbuster 'Mynaa' directed by Prabhu Solomon but could not do the film due to scheduling conflicts.  The role later went to Amala Paul who struck gold and went on to become a leading heroine in the South.
