Actor and TVK president Vijay issued a strong statement yesterday morning, criticizing the state government's lethargy on the issue. He also visited the Kallakurichi General Hospital to console the victims and their families.

Meanwhile, Bigg Boss fame actress Anitha Sampath made a controversial comment on Instagram, criticizing those who lost their lives consuming illicit alcohol. She sarcastically remarked that the victims are fighting for life after confronting terrorists defending the country. However, some media channels misinterpreted her comment, claiming that it was a criticism of Vijay's visit to the victims.

Vijay's fans were enraged by Anitha Sampath's controversial comment. In response, she clarified her stance in a comment that has since gone viral. Anitha wrote, "My post is not about Vijay at all, I have never talked bad about him. I am actually very happy for his political entry. But I had mentioned in that post that people who are admitted to the hospital are portrayed as martyrs by taking money with them and drinking illicit liquor despite being in poverty without taking care of their wives and children. I never said anything wrong about Vijay.
