The third season of Bigg Boss game show hosted by Kamal Haasan has reached its last week, and the previous week saw six contestants in the house, with Mugen being a direct finalist, and Kavin later left the show after taking 5 lakhs mid week. After this Tharshan, Sherin, Losliya and Sandy were in nomination list.

In an unexpected twist, Tharshan who had been the favorite of many, and was expected to win the title, had been announced to be evicted. This lead to shock and sorrow among the contestants as well as the audience who were watching the show, supporting him.

As the news of Tharshan's eviction had come much earlier, director Cheran, whom Tharshan called as his elder brother, tweeted "It is sad that brother Tharshan who had put in his best efforts in the game has been eliminated. He is 100% eligible to win the Bigg Boss 3 title and the prize, and I had watched his efforts closely. I am yet to come out of shock".
