It was in the year 2018, Prithviraj's new project 'Kaaliyaan' was announced! The makers of the movie had announced the project by unveiling a stunning first look teaser. Though the magnum opus went on floors in October 2020, there had not been much updates. A day ago, the makers of the movie announced that the team had resumed the work for the film. Rajeev Govindan, who is the lyricist and producer of the epic drama, took to his official Facebook handle and shared a picture with Prithviraj Sukumaran along with the update. “ ‘Kaaliyan’.. We are back to work. More news to follow," he wrote.

Billed as a big-budget epic drama, the upcoming movie ‘Kaaliyan’ tells the story of fierce warriors from Venad set in the 1700s. The movie will also feature veteran actor Sathyaraj in a pivotal role. 'Kaaliyan' is helmed by debutante director S Mahesh and the script is penned down by BT Anil Kumar.  Going by local reports, the movie is expected to be a visual and technical extravaganza. With this long pending project in the pipeline, it looks like Prithviraj is going to be having a promising year ahead with movies ranging from all different genres lined up! The actor's immediate release is the political drama thriller 'Jana Gana Mana' that is slated to hit the theatres on April 28.
