As reported earlier, actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara are teaming up for the first time with superhit director Alphonse Puthren for an upcoming movie titled 'Gold'. The movie, which marks Premam director Alphonse Puthren's comeback to filmmaking after a long gap of 6 years, started rolling in the first week of September. As the movie's shoot is progressing at a brisk pace, we have got an interesting update on the project. The movie will bring together the real-life mother-son duo Prithviraj and Mallika Sukumaran sharing screen space as reel life mother and son. Interestingly, this is the first time the two are acting as a mother-son duo.
As you know, Mallika Sukumaran is also part of Prithviraj’s upcoming directorial ‘Bro Daddy’. In the movie, the veteran actress is playing the role of Mohanlal’s mother, while Prithviraj essays her grandson’s part. Bro Daddy is currently in the post-production stage. Meanwhile, ‘Gold’ has Nayanthara in the female lead. Produced by Supriya Menon under the banner of Prithviraj Productions and Listin Stephen of Magic Frames, Gold also stars Vinay Forrt, Thesni Khan, Baburaj and many others are part of the cast.
After the remarkable success of his 2015 directorial Premam, Alphonse Puthren's fans were eagerly waiting for his next. Last year, he had announced a movie titled Paattu, that will bring together Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Touted to be a musical film, the movie was supposed to go on floors earlier this year. Owing to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie's shoot has been indefinitely postponed. Reportedly, Paattu will start rolling only after the world comes back to normalcy.
