In a major development in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the CBI to investigate the case.
The apex court was pronouncing its verdict on SSR's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty's petition, which had sought the transfer of investigation from Bihar to Mumbai.
As per the order, the Mumbai police will now have to submit all evidence collected in the case of SSR's death to the CBI. The Supreme Court also said that the FIR filed by the 34-year-old actor's father in Patna is "correct". The FIR had made several allegations against Rhea.
P Muralidhar Rao of the BJP welcomed the verdict and tweeted, "Supreme Court’s welcome verdict on #CBIForSSR has given a relief to millions-his family members, relatives, friends, fan followers and the people who’re for justice. Hope investigation will be smooth, swift and fair. Power of people and power of judiciary are intact."
