Big companies in India announce 2 lakh jobs in four weeks

Job creation has been perceived to have taken a huge hit because of COVID-19. But there is always a sliver of hope, especially if you go by the latest data.

As per an analysis published by Economic Times, as many as 2,00,000 jobs have been notified in just the past four weeks in India by companies as big as Amazon, Google, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Capgemini, and Deloitte. The report also names Flipkart, Byju’s, BigBasket, among others.

About 79 percent of the total openings are in the IT and ITes sectors. About 90 percent of them are full-time jobs. About 40 percent of them are for entry-level positions, which fresh graduates should see as positive news.
