Big Brother

There was a time when the revenge/vendetta dramas were the order of the day when it came to flicks being made in Bollywood. The trend peaked up in the 80s though the genre started dying out in the late 90s with the advent of multiplexes coming in and different kind of cinema being made. This is the reason why one tends to get nostalgic when a film with a title like 'Big Brother' arrives; especially so with none other than Sunny Deol in the lead.

One knows that the film won't be path breaking or trendsetting but expectations are pretty much set to have some high voltage drama, action and adrenaline pumping happenings on the screen.

Politicians, underworld, mafia, local goondas - all the evils are just the necessary ingredients in a film like this and 'Big Brother' is certainly no exception. The film is helmed by Guddu Dhanoa who ruled the action scene in the 90s with back to back successful films like 'Elaan', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', 'Ziddi' and 'Salakhen' to name a few. Now after a hiatus he returns with 'Big Brother'.

The film's journey begins from Delhi where a family of four is living a peaceful life. With their middle class upbringing, Sunny Deol, his brother [Imran Khan] and sister [Prachi] don't really have any complaints with the way they manage their day to day lives. Along with their mother [Farida Jalal], they stay on to be happy before an unfortunate incident brings them into a topsy-turvy stage.

They are forced to flee the city and take on a different identity.

The place they move on to start their life afresh? Mumbai!

The city which they trusted in giving them happy times ahead.
The city which they thought would give them a new lease of life.
The city which they believed would be devoid of any troubles for them.

But they were proved wrong!

The demons of the past continue to follow them here as well as there isn't any choice left for them than to revolt. And this revolt is led by none other than the character of Sunny Deol who leads from the front. After promising himself to stay away from anything that could result in any harm to his family, now he was given a go-ahead by his own mother to fight.

A fight, which was not just for himself but for his own family.
A fight, which was not just for his own family but for the people around him.
A fight, which was not just for the people around him but an entire country.

And a movement begins when he gets an all around support from the least expected quarters - females - who join hands together to bring him in a pedestal and rechristen him as their BIG BROTHER!

Doomsday was near now, not for Big Brother or his supporters, but for all the evils in the world who had forced him to take this step.

Also starring Priyanka Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, Govind Namdeo, Shahbaaz Khan, Sayaji Shinde and Avtar Gill in principal roles, 'Big Brother' is now ready for release and should be arriving on April 13th.
