Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan loves New Delhi as well as its people and wishes to visit it regularly.

"The city and its citizens here have given me enough support throughout my life and as a friend I would like to come and interact with them more," said Bachchan, who was here Thursday to felicitate winners of the "Pepsi Dhakkan wich Bachchan" contest.

Bachchan, who is also a brand ambassador of Pepsi, said that he has got many opportunities to meet people across the country and visits to Delhi were very special to him.

"This visit is more special as the festive season is in full swing. The capital is well known for its colorful shops, sweets and smiling people. And I wish all Delhiites a happy Diwali," Bachchan told reporters.

Speaking about his plans for Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights next week, the 63-year-old superstar said he would celebrate it with his family and friends and he might take an off from work that day.

"During my childhood, I used to celebrate the day with my friends with lots of fire crackers in Allahabad. But the times have changed," he added.

Asked about his film career, he said: "I am happy with the present phase. With the blessing of god and the love of my countrymen, I would like to work more to keep my fans satisfied."
